Happy Birthday Cupcake

I made this card up for my dear friend Katrina. It was her birthday (the middle of April) and I STILL haven't seen her. I have another birthday card for her too but she's already seen that one!!
Anyways, I SHOULD, unless she's been low censused, see her at work tonight. I saw the challenge over at SC today so decided I'd try it and because I wanted to make another card for her....well, this is it!!

I HOPE she doesn't get online before going to work tonight because then she'll see THIS one too!!!

I'd like to tickle your fancy.

I received a few more new stamps yesterday in the mail--WOOHOO!!-- I must admit as happy as I was, I was a little disappointed, because I had to work last night. I'd been anxiously awaiting these stamps and I wanted to PLAY! :(
So this morning when I got home I went right to my stampin/scrapin room in an attempt to at least squeak out ONE card.
This is what I came up with:
The stamp is by Inkadinkado and when I saw it I just KNEW I HAD to have it!! :)
I have quite a few ideas for this little guy and I CAN'T wait for my next few days off so I can play with him some more!!
That's all for today........
I've gotta go get ready for work now.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

TwinkleFairy

This is TwinkleFairy. I got her from Stamping Bella too. Is she THE CUTEST or WHAT?!
I colored her in yesterday and put the card together just now........
ORIGINALLY I was attempting to work with the SC173 sketch but it just wasn't coming together for me so I decided to just go with this.
I've been 'into' pink and purple' the last few days. Weird. Don't get me wrong. I like pink and purple--it just seems that lately that's ALL I gravitate to. I guess I'm feelin' 'girly'. :)

I'd WANTED to start moving my room today BUT that didn't happen. I DID however get my tables cleaned off and organized in THIS room however so THAT was good!!
Enjoy the rest of your Wednesday!!
Ciao!

Stella with an olive on top

Here's Stella!!
I just couldn't resist her!!
And here's a closer look.....
I added crystal Stickles to her crown and wand AND some diamond glaze to her shoes...now they're patent leather!! :) I also put some diamond glaze in the martini glass but you can't really see it in the picture.

That's all for now. Joe is home so I'm going to see what he's up to and what his plans are for the day.
Wouldn't you know, I washed my car yesterday.....it looked beautiful....I looked out this morning---yup, don't 'cha know........it rained! UGH! WHY didn't I park it in the garage last night??? OH Yeah! Because JOE is working in there and has a BUNCH of stuff strown about. UGH!
Enjoy YOUR day!!!
Smiles
;)

BubbleBella

Here's my FIRST Bella. I've wanted this 'Bella' since the first time I saw her. I don't know what or for WHO I'll use this card for but I like it. I need to add a sentiment, I just haven't taken the time to find 'just the right one' yet.
I actually completed this card yesterday but Blogger was having some issues, for me anyways, uploading pictures.
OH! And, as I guess you've already figured out, my honey fixed my camera. IT's a good thing AND a bad thing....good because now I don't need to go get another camera BUT BAD because I was looking forward to getting that little pocket SONY that I saw. We'll see what happens.....heeheehee. Regardless, for now I'm back to snapping pictures!
--YES. I KNOW where Nikki gets it from!! lol
Tell me what you think of the card....too much pink???

New 'Rubbah'

Lookey, lookey what came in the mail yesterday....

I was SO excited BUT didn't get a chance to play with them until today.

SO, this morning as SOON as the kids got on the bus I got to work and started cutting and adhering the EZ-mount. I stamped a few images, colored them in and JUST started actually making up some cards....Don't 'cha know it's about time for my little man to get home (Nikki has track practice). I'll see what he's going to be up to today and maybe I'll be able to at LEAST post the one card I have completed. We'll see...........

Storage Ideas???

I worked last night.
I came home, took a Tylenol PM and 'hit the rack' (flashback from those older Navy days-lol). WHY did I wake up almost EVERY hour?? Beats me but FINALLY at about 1:00pm I decided to just get up for a bit. I thought maybe if I did SOMETHING for a little while I'd get tired and be ready to lay back down again for a few hours before I have to go back tonight. Anyways, what did I choose to do?? Why get online of course and blog surf for a bit.
One of my first stops was to Beate's blog (click here) . Her latest post was about the Nestabilities. I shared a few posts back or so how Joe surprised me with the set.
OH MY GOSH!
I LOVE them!!!
I've been trying to decide how to store them and was thinking I'd just store them in CD cases with magnetic sheets behind them UNTIL I read about how Beate stores hers. She uses a CD holder. You know, one of the smaller types. Well, I just so happen to have one that will work PERFECTLY. I'm SO excited now to try this. Now all I need to pick up is some magnetic strip. Not only will they all be together, should I decide to take them to a friends house or something but they'll be EASILY transportable too!! AND take up minimal space!! WOOHOO! Thanks Beate for the AWESOME idea!
Now, while we're on the topic of STORAGE........
I asked Beate and now I'm putting it out there for all of you---
How do you store your Cuttlebug Embossing Folders??
I don't know about YOU but I know my embossing folders are multiplying like RABBITS and I'd LOVE a great space saving idea or two for THEIR storage.
I'll tell you what.......
I'll even offer up some blog candy.
I'll get a few things together, you all start leaving those GREAT ideas I KNOW you have and lets say on SUNDAY at 5:00pm I'll have one of the kids pick a name for that blog candy.
Let the ideas begin!!

Sammo & Jaz

This is our 'little man' and our 'big dog' "Jaz". We've actually had some beautiful weather the last few days and I was lucky enough to snap a few pics. Life has been so busy and the weather so, not so nice....I kind of got away from taking many pics.
Jaz is SUCH a good dog. She's an outside dog-has been since we first got her. She's not THAT big, but a lot bigger than our Yorkie, and sometimes I think Sammo is intimidated by her size. She's not mean at all--on the contrary really--I think she's more likely to lick us and love us to death first!!
She is half Lab half German Shorthair and THE BEST hunting dog Joe's ever had!! She really is SUPER smart and just THE BEST dog!!
It's SO funny to watch our little Yorkie (Fifi) run around the yard after Jaz. I LOVE this time of the year when we just sit out in the yard with the kids and watch, and play..... with the kids and the dogs for FUN!
Our biggest blessings DO come in the simplest of things don't they?!
Enjoy the rest of YOUR Sunday!

Nikki's Birthday!

This day, April 12, 14 years ago, was one of THE BEST days of my life. Our first born, Nikki, was born. FOURTEEN years ago!! WHERE does the time go??
I sent these flowers to Nikki yesterday-so she got them at school. My friend Sandra (earlier post) made it up. HOW TOTALLY cute is THIS:

She said when it was delivered a bunch of her teachers 'attacked' her because they liked it so much.
It's just as beautiful and special as Nikki! :) -Thanks Sandra. :)

Here's a top view-you can see the fork better...

We don't have anything planned to celebrate her birthday today. I was scheduled to work tonight. Thankfully I was low censused-I've not been feeling 100% the last few days. :( So we're going to plan something with her friends for next weekend (when I'm off) and we'll do a special birthday dinner sometime this week, complete with cake, candles the birthday song and all!!! :) :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEAUTY!!
We love you!!!

GET OUT OF HERE!!

OHMYGOSH!!!!

I just got the kids on the bus and THOUGHT I saw something white falling/floating through the air......I looked closer...."nah! It's April!," I thought....went about my business....went into the upstairs bathroom for something looked out and yep! Light snow falling. You've GOT to be KIDDING me! This is ridiculous. We're in APRIL!!! I'm SO sick of this cold/dreary weather. Where is Spring? and What is her HOLD UP this year!?
Yesterday I spent the day with my friend Sandra at her flower shop. I've been trying to go once a week to help her out where I can and to allow her some time to get something done outside the shop. We took some silly pictures at the end of the day--just playing around....

Silly Girls!!!!!

A few Thank You cards

One of the girls I work with asked if I'd make her a few 'Thank You' cards for her son's teachers. So these are what I came up with:

I guess I shouldn't have said, "I came up with." really because I think all of them were sketch challenges from somewhere....either SCS or someone else's blog.

You KNOW I couldn't resist a changito!!! :)

That's all for now.
I'm off for the next couple of days so HOPEFULLY I'll get a chance to create and play some more before going back to work. First, I guess, I should clean up my mess from today!
Check back in when you can and leave a comment too...I enjoy the feedback/suggestions! :)
Have a GREeeeaaaaT week! -I reminded myself of Tony the Tiger there for a second!! LOL

My new 'do'

I got my hair cut shorter on Monday. I liked my 'old' style alright, it was just time for a change.

Joe likes my hair longer but to me it's more work. Yes, it sometimes takes a little longer to style it when it's shorter but once it's done, it's done. I don't have to worry, for the most part about it falling down, out etc, etc....PLUS I had a hard time keeping it out of my face sometimes at work..so short I went--for a while anyways. We'll see how I like it.
I Nikki and Salvador JUST took these pics for me. I'm getting ready to leave for work here in a few....I actually got on hoping Vic had sent those pics of Joshua but as I was logging on he called....he's on his way home from the hospital now and won't email them for about 30 minutes. I'll probably be leaving for work by the time he gets to email them so I won't get a chance to see little Joshua until tomorrow morning (frown).
Until next time...

One of a kind.....

It's one of a kind alright.....I'm not so sure about this card. I thought the flower puff would be good on this card but I'm not sold.
I just LOVE this paper....the colors, the pattern...
I work tonight so I'm going to TRY to take a nap this afternoon. Joe is getting ready to take the boys outside and get some more work done out there and Nikki is probably still sleeping--so it's about to be NICE and QUIET in here. Hopefully I can get a few more cards and some more laundry done before nap time.
Enjoy the rest of your Wednesday!

WELCOME JOSHUA CHRISTIAN

Some of our closest friends, Victor and Adrianna-and 'lil Vic- were scheduled to have their second baby on Thursday via scheduled C-Section. Vic was in Texas, Adri back in California. Vic planned on leaving Texas today to go back to be in Ca. in time for the baby's Thursday delivery. Well, little Joshua had different plans....he decided HE wanted to come into the world today!!! So, weighing in at 6 1/2 pounds, 19 1/2 inches long and looking like Vic, Joshua Christian made his entrance.
Little Joshua has a cool story behind how he got his name....
A few years back Vic spent close to a year doing some teaching for his job back on the East Coast where he and Adrianna met another couple and their little boy Joshua. Vic and Adri spent quite a bit of time with this other couple and Joshua and would go to his baseball games and such. They really had a connection to this little boy. Sometime after Vic and Adri returned from the East Coast Joshua's dad called Vic to let him know Joshua had died. Joshua had been hospitalized after his last baseball game when they found out he had Leukemia. Within 3 short days Joshua died.
In Joshua's memory, Vic and Adri decided to name this baby Joshua.
So again, a BIG heartfelt WELCOME to Joshua Christian!!! We can't wait to see you!!!
and CONGRATULATIONS to Vic, Adri and BIG brother 'lil Vic!!!
Vic emailed me some pics last night of the new 'bundle of joy'.....How TOTALLY adorable is he?!!!

This really was an easy peesy card--I used the same paper as earlier-I just LOVE this paper!! Actually the middle of the scalloped circle is a sticker. It came in a CHIPBOARD PACK I picked up at JoAnn's a while back and haven't used yet. Actually, truth be told, it was STILL in a bag-I'd forgotten I'd even had it- I was looking around for something else yesterday and found it. Yeah! Anyways, all I did was adhere the sticker to a circle I made with my nestabilities (SO LOV'IN these!!!) and then adhered that to another scalloped circle, put a bookplate over the sentiment, stickled the flowers and 'smile' and we are 'good to go'!

Card size is 4.5x4.5. I'm finding, now that I've found envelopes for this size card, I'm REALLY liking this size!

I'm thinking I know JUST who I'm going to send this card to..........
Nikki at Nikki's Card Creations has had over 15,000 hits to her blog (YOU GO GIRL!!!) so she's having a give away--blog candy--mmmmm.
Click on over to her blog and enter for YOUR chance to win!!

Mas Changitos

I tell ya-I just can't get enough of these little guys!

The stamp set, Changito Amigos, is by Stampendous, of course. This is another stamp I picked up last week. I've been DYING to use it. I picked up this paper a while ago and kind of forgot all about it.

I don't really have a 'reason' for the card....just made it. I've been WANTING to 'create and play' all day, I just haven't been real inspired. I go back to work tomorrow evening so I figured if I was going to get ANY play time in I'd better get going and since the boys are all outside....
I FINALLY took a minute to make a 'ribbon blossom'. I've been wanting to for some time and just haven't but I thought it would be perfect for this card what with that one chango giving the rasberries and all! Pam Bassett (aka 4 Hounds on SCS) has an AWESOME tutorial on her blog. It was A LOT easier than I thought it was going to be. I have a feeling I'll be using MORE of them!!
Leave a comment and let me know what you think. ;)
Well the boys just came in for lunch--it's finishing up in the oven but I'd better get down there and see what they're up to. The sooner I make them happy the sooner I can get them back outside working so I can get back to playing!!
